Youth Environmental Sustainability Meeting - June 8 @ 2 p.m.

GenerationEngage has partnered with Miami Dade College's Earth Ethics Institute (EEI) to create the Youth Environmental Sustainability (Y.E.S.) group for MDC students.
Students and Ambassadors will have the opportunity to work on green social marketing campaigns, environmental legislation, speak and work with local elected officials, host movie screenings & discussions and much more. We will be meeting every two weeks so feel free to join in throughout the summer!
Come Join us and learn how to run for public office. Ambassadors will learn what it takes to run for public office in their community and how to put together a successful campaign plan.
The curriculum of 8 workshops will be taught by local elected officials in the community and candidates currently running for public office. The program will last throughout the summer until August.

To promote green initiatives within the city, GenGage is partnering with the City of Miami to get young people out in the community to help our city GO GREEN every month.
The event is free, family friendly, and a lot of fun!
Bike Miami is an initiative by City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz to promote cycling, livable streets and the growing urban neighborhood of Downtown Miami. The first BIKE Miami and now the second BIKE Miami on the 14th closed Flagler Street from the Courthouse to Bayfront Park, as well as South Miami Avenue from 10th Street (Mary Brickell Village) to SE 4th Street and then north on 1st Ave to Flagler for pedestrians and cyclists.
GenerationEngage will host a picnic at 2 p.m. and we will have a speaker from Dream in Green come out to speak to the Ambassadors about the work they do in the community

On March 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m., tens of millions of people in more than 400 cities and 74 countries around the world will come together once again to make a bold statement about their concern about climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour.
Miami Dade College will turn off exterior lights of all 8 campuses. In celebration of Earth Hour Miami, MDC will host events on:
